The new Palm PR is a handheld device entirly developed by Intertraff. It runs Windows XP / 7, and it's especially designed for mobile license plate recognition. It mounts a proper ANPR camera (Micro-WalzCAM) and can be running continuously for 4 hours.
PalmPR opens up a whole new range of applications, including:
| Street and car park audits |
Mobile vehicle assessments for insurance claims, auction, sales, etc |
| |
| Police Enforcement |
Fleet management and stock control |
Palm PR continuously analyses the live picture looking for number plates. Once a vehicle plate is detected the number is recognized using a series of complex template-matching algorithms and a full image picture of the vehicle and its plate patch is stored on the hard disk.
The reading result is also compared with the local database to find out if the vehicle is stolen, authorized, etc. The application software can be tailored to any particular requirements in order to provide a customised operator interface.
For images capturing, PalmPR uses a proper ANPR Camera, Micro-WalzCAM especially designed for 24/7 license plate recognition. Micro-WalzCAM is an infrared camera and it's embedded to the PalmPR Hand Held terminal.
The software application running on the PalmPR can be customized accordingly to Clients requirement. System integrators have great advantage as well because the PalmPR is running on a standard Windows XP / 7 so their software applications can be installed and running on the PalmPR with no or little modifications.
Intertraff will officially launch the new PalmPR at the upcoming Ifsec 2010 (May 10 to 13, 2010 - NEC Birmingham UK). We look forward to welcome you at IFSEC to show the PalmPR main functionality and its market potential.
