Intertraff launched its new WalzCAM, Number Plate Recognition Camera at IFSEC last week in Bimingham UK.
The new WalzCAM incorporates a stylish design and a high resolution monochrome CCD camera with high sensitivity in the infra-red, surrounded by 240 IR LEDs. The integrated number-plate recogniser incorporates the Intertraff ANPR Engine.
The IFSEC was the ideal opportunity to meet new and existing customers and illustrate the breadth of our products and services. ANPR software and cameras are not easy products to demonstrate through catalogues and websites alone and the chance to show people on a face-to-face basis the specific product features is more than welcome. We wish to thank all visitors and look forward to returning again at IFSEC next year in May.

Intertraff will officially launch its SuperWalzCAM, Number Plate recognition Camera with embedded recognizer at the upcoming Intertraffic show in Amsterdam (1 - 4 April).
Based on the former WalzCAM camera project developed by Intertraff 5 years ago, the new system now incorporates the Intertraff ANPR Engine, which has been proven in many countries worldwide and is capable to process 25 frames per second. Real-time video triggering upon plate presence provides excellent plate detection without using an external trigger input even for vehicles travelling at a speed of 200km/h.
The WalzCAM is available for immediate use in diverse applications, such as Journey Time Monitoring, Congestion charging, Tolling, Surveys, Stolen vehicle recognition, Customs controls, Access control and Car park management. It includes provision for operation with control car park barriers. To get more info about the SuperWalzCAM Click here

Intertraff has launched its new version of Copland which is the software manager which centrally handles the violations captured by the D-cop. The new version contains a brand new feature which allows the operator to upload on the website the pictures capture by the D-cop.
When the violation notice is mailed to the driver this notice now contains a userID and password which are unique to each violation. This information can be used by the driver in order to access the Intertraff web site and after having entered his unique ID and password to view the pictures of the specific violation.
In most countries the pictures of the infringements cannot be attached to the violation notice due to privacy issues. This new Copland feature offers to the Municipalities who have installed the D-cop, a tool which securely allows, those who have received a violation notice, to get access and display the pictures and relevant information regarding the infringement.
In first quarter of 2008, this new feature will be expanded to include the violation notice payment via credit card.

D-COP goes 12.5 Megapixel.
Intertraff is continuously focused on the excellence of its products. Recently D-Cop, speed and red light enforcement camera, has been modified in order to further increase the quality of images captured. The models offered today on the market are equipped with a 6 or a 10 megapixel camera sensor, which both deliver resolution of the highest level, and which Intertraff's customers recognise as being a very important feature when demonstrating the D-Cop to end users.
Today, Intertraff launches a D-Cop model which mounts a brand new compact professional camera, allowing the resolution to reach 12,5 megapixels.
Compared to the 10 megapixel camera which is able to contemporarily capture images on four lanes of traffic, the 12,5 megapixel promises to further increase the number of lanes to 6.
The new camera produces superior exposures and offers broad coverage and high sensitivity in low light. Picture Controls streamline in-camera image processing saves time in image analysis and number plate recognition.

Intertraff has commissioned a significant project for Confindustria Agrigento, the association which represents the industries located in the city of Agrigento (Sicily). The Automatic Number Plate Recognition system was installed by the "Istituto di Vigilanza La Folgore sas" Intertraff’s integrator partner.
The ANPR system checks the plate details against security databases transmitting the plate image and text to the central office where the security operators visually check for any "suspected" vehicle.
All entry and exit points to the Industrial Zone are monitored by the ANPR System which maintains an event log of all vehicle movements for subsequent search purposes.
If a match is made against a security database then an alarm is immediately display on the screen and subsequently sent via SMS to security operators' mobile phones.

D-cop, Intertraff’s Digital Speed and Red Light Camera, has obtained the type approval in South Africa, following testing by SABS for compliance with local standards. With this certification, D-Cop will be operational in the South African Market. Our goal is to continue approaching the international market through dedicated distributors with an aggressive strategy of commercialisation of this innovative product.
Intertraff with its development team is focused on continuous improvement of the D-Cop, by monitoring the competitor’s products to stay on track with latest market requirements and to be a step ahead by ensuring that the D-Cop is technically superior. Intertraff’s D-Cop offers to the operator the chance to monitor four or more lanes of traffic by using an 11 megapixel camera, which ensures the capturing of crisp images, which the old CCTV technology was unable to reach.
A fast and simple installation is also a feature of the D-Cop, which is the first enforcement product on the market which uses laser technology to capture images of vehicles on multiple lanes, without having to install the laser detector outside of the cabinet. By doing so there is no need to interrupt traffic for the installation.
The latest innovation is the development of the side flash which allows the capturing of clear night time images, which show clearly the colour of the vehicle and its surroundings as well as capturing a clear picture of the licence plates even if they are reflecting ones.
Intertraff is currently focused on the development of an OEM version of its D-Cop which will be launched on the market in April 2008, at the upcoming Intertraffic Exhibition. The OEM version promises to be simple in the integration with third party products and the most cost effective in its class.
