BlackBox is a mobile and transportable system especially developed for stolen vehicles identification purposes. It is composed by a camera preferebly installed in the car front area and a small PC (Model A)
Alternative it is possible to connect two cameras to the PC. Please see BlackBox Model B.
The system can read all the license plates present in the camera field of view. Once read, each license plate is instantly verified in the stolen vehicle database to find out if the vehicle is a stolen one or not.
When the system identifies a stolen vehicle, it alerts the operator by executing an audio alert message.
BlackBox allows many different database configurations (for up to 10) in order to suit all customer requirements.
This means that BlackBox can be used, for example, for Restricted Area or the Bus Lane enforcement. The archives can be updated locally or remotely via SMS.
Data and pictures are displayed on a 7 inches in dash monitor and stored in the local hard disk.
BlackBox Model A employs a very small Pentium IV PC, purposely manufactured for in car installations.
Its dimensions ensure the highest transportability and an easy in dash positioning.
The B version of BlackBox is composed by two cameras and a rugged PC.
The first camera can be placed in the car front area and the second one in the rear. Operator can move the rear camera with a Pan & Tilt remote controller.
The two video signals are contemporarily displayed in two different sub-windows within the same user nterface.
The second camera allows the system to read two lanes of traffic and it is particularly useful in case cars are parked side by side.
